Give us an introduction on who you are and what you do.
I am a Hong Kong born Melbourne based photographer & filmmaker who focuses on fashion, portraiture and documentary photography.
In what ways does music and sound play a role in your creative process?
I think music and sound helps me develop visuals for both personal and commissioned projects, whether it’s motion or photography. I really believe everyone in life is a dancer of their own, you just need to find the right music and you can really make something turnt up for the lens. I also really enjoy walking around listening to music while travelling to different countries to photograph daily lives and moments.
How do you create a space in which you feel inspired?
I don’t like to sit still, so I need a space that allows me to live and work in a flexible way.
Who are you listening to at the moment?
Bryson Tiller, Burna Boy, Always Never, Travis Scott, Big Sean, SZA.
Tell us about your favourite moment with your Nuraphone.
I remember a special moment at the very start of our harsh Melbourne lock down — I was really missing going to live gigs so I used my Nuraphone to listen to a summer mix Shlohmo did for Sneeze Magazine and a live set by The Blaze on YouTube. I felt like I was at a live gig and a party again. It was a very nice experience.
