At Nura, we believe the only thing better than listening to music is being able to truly hear it. That’s why, in 2018, we launched our revolution to change the way humanity experiences music.
To develop Nura Personalized Sound, we knew there was only one place to begin—the human ear. With backgrounds in hearing science and engineering, we developed proprietary technology to harness the information produced by users’ ears as well as a self-learning engine to turn that data into unique hearing profiles. Next, we created the NURAPHONE, our first device to deliver this unparalleled personalized experience.
Today, Nura holds multiple patents for multiple groundbreaking innovations that support the delivery of Nura Personalized Sound. We’ve also amassed the world’s largest hearing database and have used that information to design Nura Signature Sound—a unique sound curve that we believe beats all other out-of-the-box sound available today.
Hailed as a complete reinvention of the headphone, NURAPHONE received multiple awards including the CES Best of Innovation Award, Red Dot's Best of the Best and SXSW's Music and Audio Innovation Award.
NURALOOP was awarded the Business Insider Best of CES Award and became an Honoree in the CES 2019 Innovation Awards.
Throughout our journey, we’ve been proud to partner with emerging artists and industry icons, including Pos of De La Soul, Robert Glasper, Emmavie and TOKiMONSTA. Musical giants including Stevie Wonder, will.i.am and Andrea Bocelli have also shared their love of Nura Sound. Our Nura Live from Home series has featured exciting emerging artists and we’ve partnered with Songlines and One Village Alliance to support artists and youth through music.
Nura powers the elite players of New Zealand Rugby with immersive personalized sound so they can continue to dominate the world. We are proud to be the official headphones of the All Blacks, All Black Sevens, Black Ferns, Black Fern Sevens, Maori All Blacks and All Blacks XV.
Nura was founded in Melbourne by Dr. Dragan Petrovic, an electrical engineer, and Dr. Luke Campbell, a medical doctor and hearing scientist. In 2018, the company launched Australia’s largest-ever kickstarter campaign. Today, we have teams around the world.
